Team Building Expeditions
& Reward-Based Travel Experiences

In today’s corporate world, there are countless generic team-building workshops and reward travel programs. While a luxury resort or golf weekend might be appealing in the short term, we believe they are disconnected from the purpose of rewarding high achievers or the need to bring together remote teams. Sure, fine dining and spa days are pleasant, but what will you come away with? A slap on the back, and then back to it? We are of the belief that generic team-building workshops like trust falls just don’t cut it.
At Desert Island Survival, we don’t just offer wilderness adventures, we deliver experiences that promote growth and inspire, as well as driving real results for your organisation.
Our survival expeditions are designed to push the boundaries of traditional incentive and team-building programs (cue rolling of eyes and general muttering), taking your teams out of their comfort zones, developing critical leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in an environment that challenges and inspires.
This is a once in a lifetime adventure. This is also an opportunity to improve your team’s cohesion and synergy. The two are not mutually exclusive.
From an uninhabited Pacific island to the Swedish forest,
each expedition follows the same powerful rhythm:
Learn together. Take control together. Celebrate properly.
A private island in the Pearl archipelago. No resort, no bar, no one else.
Fly into Panama City and straight out by speedboat. First night on the beach, phones off.
Shelter, fire and water as a team. The group works out who leads and who keeps spirits up.
Fishing and foraging to feed everyone, then a move to your own camp.
The instructors step back and the group runs itself. Every call is made together.
Picked up off the beach, then a celebration dinner and a proper bed.
A slow breakfast, and a team that knows each other very differently.
Live wild on an uninhabited island in the deep south, then finish in an overwater villa looking back at the sand where you slept.
Into Male, then south to the survival island. Straight into it together.
Shelter, fire, water and fishing as a team. Titles fall away fast.
Foraging the reef and shoreline to feed everyone, then a move to your own camp.
The group is on its own, instructors at a distance.
Speedboat to the resort, spa and an overwater villa.
A long, slow breakfast, and a team that trusts each other in a way it didn’t before.
Live alongside the Hadza for three days, then trade the bush for the great parks of the Rift Valley.
Fly into Kilimanjaro and transfer to camp near Lake Eyasi. A first fireside evening with the Hadza.
Hunt, forage and make fire alongside the Hadza. Learning something genuinely hard together levels everyone.
Honey hunting and tribal traditions, then a farewell ceremony.
Into Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Sundowners together as the light goes.
A full day among the wildlife and dinner under the stars.
Back to Arusha, a team closer and clearer about what matters.
The hardest thing on our list, built out of Tom’s own thirty-five days in the Canadian wilderness. A true solo phase in the long summer light.
Met at Sundsvall and driven out to the forest. First shelter and a fireside dinner.
Axe work, shelter, fire and fishing, shoulder to shoulder.
Foraging, navigation and cooking as a team, then the pre-solo briefing.
Each person takes on their own solo. The trust that builds is the whole point.
Back together, hot showers, a spa and a feast in Sundsvall.
Breakfast, and a team that has seen what each of them is made of.
Larger groups get an extra instructor or game master.
In-country transfers, meals and drinks, survival kit, expedition team and conservation contribution.
International flights and personal travel insurance.
These journeys show the usual six-day shape rather than a fixed timetable. We can shorten or extend the journey, adjust the difficulty, or combine wild days with hotel nights.
Tell us what you want the experience to achieve. We’ll recommend the destination, challenge level and itinerary.
We don’t just take your team to a remote island, we take them on an adventure of growth, resilience, collaboration, and an awful lot of fun (seriously). Each of our experiences is designed to push boundaries and cultivate essential skills like leadership, adaptability, and teamwork, all whilst fully disconnected from technology and instead fully connected with the natural world on a desert island. Whether it’s an individual reward, a team-building workshop, or a custom corporate incentive trip, we create tailored experiences that deliver lasting impact.
At Desert Island Survival, we deliver far more than just an adventure, we offer impactful, results-driven experiences that enhance team performance and leadership skills. Here’s why decision-makers and HR managers should choose our corporate retreats for team-building or employee rewards:
