The Highlights of our Sweden Adventure

Trip Summary

Do you watch the show Alone and crave to experience it for yourself? Now it’s your turn to live cut off from the world, building a shelter and foraging for your food. First, however, you need to learn the skills, so we have brought in past contestants of the show to teach you all the bushcraft, and survival skills that you need to equip you.

For the first 4 nights it is survival light, we all camp in the woods together in our own tents communal cooking and eating around the campfire. Each day is packed with nature walks skills development, great eats and a healthy amount of fun.

After a 4-day crash course, quickly developing you into a bushcraft champ, it’s time to hike out to your lakefront home for the next 3 nights with little more than your hand knife pot and sleeping bag. Sh*t’s about to get real. This is your real survival challenge, there is no one else to rely on but yourself. What will you prioritise first? Shelter, water, fire or food?

Then, after the third night, when you are either hitting your wall or ready for another 3 months, you are rescued (with a cold beer or coke and snacks), to head back to what now feels like a 10* hotel for a survival feast and story swapping with all of your other survivors.

Day 1

We collect you from Stockholm airport and drive you for just under 2 hours, ever deeper into the Swedish wilderness. Then we will hike to our base camp. After an expedition briefing, we will launch into your bushcraft training.

Day 2

After breakfast, we develop your skills in finding food, everything from foraging and wild edible identifying to ways you can fish and track animals. This includes trapping theory (though no killing as it’s not permitted in southern Sweden).

Day 3

Today you will learn different techniques to make a fire. In the afternoon, we teach you the different ways to build a shelter, as well as weaving cordage, and knot tying.

Day 4

This our final day of training, chalking off survival psychology, mindset and strategy. We cover water procurement and purification theory, wilderness cooking and long-term survival techniques.

Day 5

This is it. After breakfast each contestant makes their way to their solo vantage along the lake, where, with just a few limited items, you will be sustaining yourself for the next 3 days (guests can choose to pair up if they prefer).

Day 6

Waking up to the mist over the lake, and throwing your line out in an effort to catch breakfast, your survival challenge continues. This is where the growth really happens, and your resilience is honed.

Day 7

When was the last time you went 3 days without speaking to another human? It does not take much solitude to truly feel the absence of humanity, and learn a lot about yourself.

Day 8

You have made it, You have survived and rescue is on the way. Greeted with a drink and some breakfast snacks, we head to a hotel that now feels 10* for the best shower of your life and a feast of a lunch.

In the evening, we have a celebratory meal together, sharing stories and trying to put the experience into words.

Yes for the final 3 days you will be entirely alone. When was the last time you didn’t talk to another human for 3 days? For many never, this is a wonderful time for introspection disconnection and growth.

Yes, it is possible to pair up or undertake this with a friend or two, it’s your call.

If you feel like you can no longer continue you can be rescued and camp out with the instructors for the remaining days.

All of our instructors are wilderness first aid qualified. For the final 3 days you will check in via one-way phone in the AM and PM. Just like on the TV show Alone.

Isolated, it’s unlikely you will see another human or signs of humans. Though only 90 min from Stockholm this is stilla wild and isolated area of Sweden, not as the north but given the ease of access it feels like you are cut off.

We will meet in Stockholm and take a 2hour drive into the wild until we are surrounded by blueberry and lakes. Stockholm is well-connected and cheap to fly to from most of europe.

You will need to travel to Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholm Arlanda Airport ARN ). You should arrive latest in the morning of your expedition start date. We will meet on the expedition start date at 11AM.

We recommend you download Hopper’ for your phone and enter your dates. They will tell you when the best time to book your flights is before the price creeps up, typically 90 days prior is optimum.

We also love using flight connection maps for finding your best route from where you live.

Google flights is our favourite flight search engines, however, we always recommend booking directly with the airline once you have found your flights as you will have a preferential cancellation policy and better upgrade potential.
